Harbor

Already present in the Teresian Cadastre with its two docks (one orthogonal to the coast and the other one L-shaped) enclosing a stretch of water of variable width depending on the lake seasonal levels, it ended on the shore with a natural slope reinforced with cut stones. The two new high docks with walkway at the highest level appear in the Rabbini Cadastre and in the first photos of the early 20th century, with stone ramps on two inner orthogonal sides. The edge of the main ramp and of the dock orthogonal to the shore were reinforced in the late 20th century with significantly protruding Larssen sheet pilings, consequently reducing the available docking area. On the edge of the main L-shaped dock, a statue of the Madonna in green ceramic from Laveno protects the harbor, which today hosts the remaining fishermen’s resin layered boats and those of other locals and owners of commercial activities on the island.
